Killer Elevator Speech Challenge in Katy Texas
My scenario will be take place in an area where I
would have an opportunity to present myself to potential clients via a
short elevator speech. The odds are much greater that I would be a in a
restaurant and over hear a couple speaking to one another than standing
at an actual elevator waiting to go up or down. I decided to write my
presentation bas I am not sure I will have both time and access of
another person to help video my presentation. The key item, in my
opinion, is these short presentations has to portray an individual
engaging in normal conversation as opposed to a written monologue one is
repeating from rote memory.
I am sitting at McDonalds one a Saturday morning during the fall of 2011 in Katy Texas reading the Sports page of the Houston Chronicle while eating my Breakfast McMuffin
when a couple sits down at the table next to me with their breakfast
The man says to his wife or significant other “These weekend trips
almost every weekend from Kerrville to Katy are absolutely beating me up
as I am totally exhausted. How did we ever get to this point?” The
wife or significant other looks up shaking her head and responds with
“Well it all started when we volunteered to watch the grandkids and now
everyone just expects us to be here every weekend. We definitely need to
seriously consider moving here to Katy and buying a home as I cannot go on like this.”
Hearing this whole conversation I jump to my feet
and tell them” Hello I was not purposely trying to listen to your
conversation but I heard you folks might want to move to Katy. I am Bob
Gilbert and I am a Realtor with Better homes & Gardens Real Estate
here in Katy. My area of expertise is the entire Katy area and I
specialize in helping families finding excellent homes at reasonable
prices. My background includes many years of extensive and successful
financial management and now I am exerting all of my energy in the Real
Estate field. I am a CPA
and obviously I completely understand all of the financial aspects
surrounding the acquisition of a home. I am also an expert negotiator as
I learn the art of the deal from my many years of being a financial
executive for the energy trading divisions of major corporations. I am a
Realtor these days as I truly have a passion for homes
and finding homes for different types of families ranging from first
time home buyers to grandparents who need to move to be closer to their
families. My passion for homes goes back to
my Mom who always wanted to live in her own home but never had the
opportunity to do so. I urge you folks to consider interviewing any
Realtor or Realtors in advance of appointing them to represent you in
your real estate searches. I would be honored if you would remember me

points I believe a short presentation needs to include as well as
discussing creating a medium length and long length presentation.
