Seven Lakes High School Theater Group Performs “The Odd Couple” in Katy Texas
The Studio Theatre Troupe of Seven Lakes High School in Katy Texas will be putting on two versions of Neil Simon’s classic comedy “The Odd Couple”. The First version will be the normal male classic involving Felix and Oscar and the second version will be the new updated version using all females involving Florence and Olive.
The story line is Felix/Florence get thrown out of their households by
their spouses and move to New York City. The apartment they move into is
lived in by the very sloppy, sarcastic and very happily divorced sports
writing buddy named Oscar/Olive.
The complicated part is looking at all the performances and deciding which one or ones to attend.
The Male classic
version will be performed on Thursday October 13, Friday October 21, and
Saturday October 22 with each performance beginning at 7:00 P.M. There
will also be a Matinee on Saturday October 15 at 2:00 P.M.
The Female
version with Florence and Olive will be performed on Friday October14,
Saturday October 15, Thursday October 20 and these performances all
start at 7:00 P.M. Similar to the male version a Saturday matinee will
be performed on October 22 at 2:00 P.M.
The shows are being held in the Black Box Theatre
at Seven Lakes High School. All seats are reasonably priced at $8.00
per person. The seating is limited to 150 for each show. The box office
is open the Monday of each week at Lunch time. I suggest one of the
parents go to the school to obtain tickets as most students never
remember to find and buy tickets at lunch. You and your family can call
281-237-2836 for reservations.

My best guess is that both the male and
female versions will be excellent performances and something worth
putting on the busy family calendar.
My research indicates that Abby Emery and
Jane Weber of Seven Lakes Theatre group are two of the best in the
world. Both of these ladies won this honor at the National Thespian Convention
which was held during June 2011 in Nebraska. Abby won for Stage
Management and Jane for Theatre Marketing. Congratulations to both of
these ladies.
