American Legion in Katy, Texas Hosts " Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social" on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at the Katy Elks Lodge 2628 located at 1050 Katy-Fort Bend Road Katy, Texas. The American Legion is the largest Veterans organization in the world.
Jonathan D. Rozier American Legion Post 164 started its yearly ice cream social back in 2005 and this is its seventh anniversary of this event. The cost to attend is $6.00 per person with children under age 6 $3.00. Seconds can be obtained for $3.00 per person. Proceeds will go to help support the many community service projects that the Legion Post 164 under takes each year.
The Post 164 was originally the idea of several members of the local VFW . The Post was created back in 2001 with the purpose to fill the void for Veterans who could not join the VFW but still wanted to have a group where they could share the same camaraderie and opportunities that the VFW provided to its members.
The Jonathan D. Rozier Post 164 holdsmonthly meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month These meetings are held at the Elks Lodge mentioned above. and the meetings start promptly at 7:30 PM.
