KATY MAIN STREET BEING DEVELOPED
BPI Realty is in the process of a major mixed use development in the Katy area named Katy Main Street.The project is being developed at the south west corner of the Katy Freeway and Pin Oak which is adjacent to the Katy Mills Mall. Major road construction will eventually tie both the Grand Parkway and FM 1093 to Pin Oak. Kingsland Blvd will be extended.The anchor retail store is rumored to be HEB. The first phase should start soon and will be a small section of the total development. There is planned to be 500,000 square feet of retail space and 400,000 square feet of Class A office space. Fiftenn acres of pad site development will be available along the Katy freeway.
In addition, KBR has identified 80 acres of the Grand Parkway and I-10 to develop a 910,000 square foot office complex that will be home to their Corporate headquarters.
Katy continues to be the fastest growing suburb in the Houston area and one the fastest growing areas in the entire UnIted States.
Population estimates show that within a five mile radius of Katy Main Street the estimated population will increase from 100,301 ( 2009) to 120,900 by 2014 or approximately 20% increase. The number of household will increase from current estimates of approimately 32,000 to over 38,00 by year 2014. The 2009 estiamte of average houseshold income within the 5 mile radius of Katy Main Street is approximately $107,000. These are without question unbelieveable statistics.
