New Katy Freeway's HOV lanes now open!
I-10, better known as the Katy Freeway west of the City of Houston, now has newly rebuilt HOV lanes open and running!
For now the project allows for more lanes in each direction for peak travel times...but eventually the HOV lanes will also act as a toll road for those willing to pay extra. The road will be open to those who possess an area EZ Tag. This should also help alleviate traffic on the main sections of I-10 as well as the I-10 feeder (service) roads.
The expansion of I-10 to Katy is one of the reasons the Katy area in general is so hot with corperations (KBR just announced the move of their world headquauters to Katy), medical facilities, and energy executives are all calling Katy home!
