Katy Shred Days for Heroes will take place in Katy Texas on Saturday June 28, 2014 from 9 AM until Noon. Bring boxes or any containers of old unwanted documents as these unwanted or unneeded items will be shredded for minimum donation of $5 to  $10  per box. The event takes place at the McDonalds of Spring Green at the above address in western Katy. This McDonalds is located on the corner of Spring Green and Cinco Ranch Blvd on the northeast corner. You can not miss this restaurant as just head west from Highway 99 on Cinco Ranch Blvd.

The concept is very simple to bring boxes and bags full of unwanted papers, documents, bills, junk mail, magazines or whatever to McDonalds of Spring Green and they will shred all of these documents for you with no hassles or worries. These days identification theft is so prevalent proper document disposal is critical.

This event has become so successful it is being held on a quarterly basis and this is the 2 nd quarter of 2014 shred day. I have posted about this event in the past as I think it is important one to support. Look at this situation from a home clutter standpoint as you are helping get rid of old files and miscellaneous stuff you did not know what to do. If you need or want to put your home on the market to sell this could be the first step in a cleanup process. Every Realtor should tell a home seller to get rid of clutter before the home is put on the market!

What I believe is one of the primary reasons we all should support this event is all proceeds from this shredding operation will be given to the Impact a Herocharitable organization. This group helps severely wounded service women and men. In their own words taken from their web site: “ Impact A Hero is a non-partisan 501(c) (3) organization, created to provide a simple mechanism for individuals and corporations to help provide emotional and financial support for our severely wounded /disabled War on Terror veterans and their families. All Donations are tax-deductible.”

I personally believe for many years, the US government unfortunately has not provided and never has provided the assistance it should to these wounded heroes. The debacle inside the VA is a classic and woeful example of what I am talking about. Shred Days is a total positive situation for all participants. At our home, I know we still have numerous old files in both my garage and study that need to be shredded. I will have to see if I can gather the old stuff and get it to McDonalds in time to help this fine cause. I am publishing this blog now so everyone has time to gather these old files including myself.

If you would like more information about this fine charity or make a donation go to their web site by clicking here.
