An Old Fashioned Christmas Festival in Katy Texas
An Old Fashioned Christmas Festival in Katy Texas
On Saturday December 15, 2011 an Old Fashioned Christmas Festival is being sponsored by Katy Market Days and this is the third annual celebration. The Festival will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Avenue B in Old Town Katy as Avenue B is essentially where a many of the store are located or are close by in Old Katy Texas.

The pageant will feature Santa Claus and real snow
arriving at right around noon time. I attended last year and the real
snow was there for ll to enjoy. In addition, there will be lots of delicious food available for purchase and excellent local entertainment.
Local small business will be open with numerous potential gift ideas
for Christmas shoppers. The festivities will feature things such as arts
& crafts, jewelry, antiques, all kinds of different gifts, hot
cocoa and coffee.
The event is free
to attend but all are requested to bring donations of canned goods
which will be given to the Food Bank at Katy Christian Ministries (KCM).
I have previously written blogs about KCM itself, their food bank and
last year’s festival. The KCM food bank feed in excess of 6,800 families
during the year 2011 and the total will be higher in 2012.

Katy
Market days were established in 2001 and has been a growing endeavor
ever since then. Katy Market Days is held on the third Saturday of every
month between 2 ND Street and Avenue B. Most of the local vendors with
shops in Old Katy participate in the monthly Katy Market Days event.
Each month during any given year, the merchants pick a new theme. I
also have written several previous blogs about Katy Market days.
I
am writing about this event early this year so folks can plan in
advance to attend. As I said above I went last year to this festival and
many residents also took advantage of the various opportunities and had
fun.
