Katy Lacrosse Club is Hosting a Special Lacrosse Clinic

Katy Lacrosse Club is Hosting a Special Lacrosse Clinic

The Katy Lacrosse Club is hosting a special lacrosse clinic on Saturday September 29, 2012 at the Firethorne Community Center in Katy Texas. I am giving everyone advance notice so appropriate plans can be made. The Max Seibald Lacrosse Clinic will be here that day in Firethorne. Max is a professional midfielder who currently plays for the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse and the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. Max starred at Cornell University where he was a four time First Team All-Ivy League performer plus three time All-American. Max ran a clinic last year in Firethorne and I wrote a blog about that event.

The sessions are divided into 2 three hour groups and will present to attendees very specific skills which are critical to the game of lacrosse. These two sessions are for High School being session A which runs from 8 AM until 11 AM; and Clinic B which covers players from 5 TH grade up to middle school and will run from 1 PM until 4 PM. The cost for both of these meetings will be $80 per person. In addition, Max will run a very special High School Advanced Player class from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM and this class will cost $200 per person.

Max will hold a lunch motivation group and talk from 11:30AM until 12: 30 PM with food served from Chick-Fil-A . The motivation class is open to parents and players and will cost $10 per person.

In addition to all the great instruction and playing the game there will be door prizes, raffle and Silent auction. All players will receive a goody bag.

I personally never got an opportunity to play Lacrosse as where I grew up in  major mid-western inner city Lacrosse was considered a Rich Man's sport in  manner similar to sailing. Please do not misunderstand me as I know now and have for many years Lacrosse is not just a sport for the Rich. Lacrosse has grown dramatically in popularity among young people and now both men and women have high school teams all across Texas and the rest of the United States. Lacrosse has been a very popular sport on the East Coast of the US but from what I understand it is surging in growth on the West Coast and here in Texas. Lacrosse is an excellent and tough sport. I do wish I would have had opportunity back in the day to play and learn this great game.

Firethorne is a fantastic area for folks to live and one among numerous amenities which exist in this neighborhood is a Lacrosse field. I recently wrote a detailed blog about Firethorne as a definitive source and you can view it by clicking here.

If you would like more information about this wonderful event and registration form please go to here.

I want to thank and give her a very special shout out to Kim Whitt of the Katy Lacrosse Club for E-mailing the information about the Lacrosse Clinic. I hope you folks have a huge turnout of both players and fans. I might even try to stop out and take a few pictures assuming I am not showing homes to clients that day.
